This ministry is an extension of the PSR program. It gives young people a voice in the church. Though sometimes challenging, the children are able to express their love and acceptance of God and his son, Jesus Christ. The young people are also made aware of their surroundings and how they are a gift and can make a positive difference to each other’s lives through following the teachings of Jesus.
Our parish youth ministry was developed to address the needs of the parish youth. It is one of the special ministries of our community to, with, by and for the youth. The program aims to foster the total integral personal growth of every young person by opening all the avenues in the Church for their active and responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community.
The orientation of the program focuses on the overall areas of life activity such as spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical in order to enhance the fullest development of the young people. In order to work with this ministry, all volunteers are required to participate in mandatory Safe Environment training mandated by the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
The Youth are responsible for all ministries during the Liturgy which is the second Sunday of every month.
